As elsewhere in the southern hemisphere, after a short period of unrest due to
return of sunny days, the languor of life has taken over. While the country suffers from an overwhelming heat from 9am in the morning until 17h, and unlike their compatriots Israeli (what lack of tact Agathe, compatriot?) Palestinians have not ALL the air conditioning at home. We must not make mouron neither, the old remain in the shade.
Yesterday I bought an old camera 120mm Mamiya, a photographer recycled souvenir vendor in olive wood for pellerins. 400 shequels, about 75 € knowing that works very well. One case. I intend to make a series of portraits of palestosses with. It's very exciting to be able to use his abilities and his savoir faire. I recently travelled up the dark room which is located in the former local NGO (and lies close to the demolition). Apart from a few chemistries a bit outdated, everything worked very well. I did some workshops learning development and expansion of films but obviously, young people are interested in these processes dirty, rough and costly. Digital technology has certainly won his bet in the country votes for development (or not).
For my part I managed a few shots fired at least circumstantial, namely, kéfiyehs, full of kéfiyehs on a substantive presentations during the funeral of martyrs. Happy Palestine.
It remains for me officially no more reason to stay in this NGO. Nothing and no one really believed me. Too many nepotism and hypocrisy. The so-called non inefficiency and vocational courses. An unintended use of international volunteers, which could be justified and justifiable is to be decidedly unhelpful and just exhausting for them. By 5 months nobody in this organization has found a way to devote himself to a real training in photography. Everything is done in half, upside down, without conviction or without effort. Fatigant. All the excuses that have given: winter, poverty, injustice, occupation, fear, inequality, are more than shadows plannent qussi high as precarious, racism, capitalism, the antisocial, which takes place in the West. There are fights against the gods, history and time. And unfortunately it is the struggle waged by the Palestinians.
Some portraits to say that I am a photographer, thus following facies Jenin and kids, children of children of refugees.
